Epilogue
“Do you think he succeeded?” “Of course not,” Rider said, staring at Starr. “Oh Rider, you have no faith in Tobias, do you? Why do you work for him if you think you can do better?” Nicky asked. Rider sighed but didn’t answer. It had been three hours since their report of Tobias getting Evie and the rest at the hole. They were all hoping Evie would say yes, so Tobias would stop obsessing over the Never Princess. They hoped of seeing the girl, parading into the bunker on his arm. It would make their life so much easier then having to worry about the girl. “Will he be back soon?” Annie asked. Her question hung in the air, unanswered. Meanwhile, Tobias was heading back to the bunker, trying to think of another plan. A love spell? Kill Aric? Again? A million thoughts ran through his head on how to win the young girls heart. He had stopped by the Wish Fish lake, only to see a picture of Evie and himself, with the matching Wonderland crowns. It only made his heart ache more. He was about to give up completely before he saw by the side of the lake, a bottle. A bottle of smoky green tonic. With a single note If at first you don’t succeed, try try again. Use this wisely. – Queen of Hearts He quickly smelt the tonic and recognized it. He ran towards the bunker, with a new, better plan. He kicked open the door. His crew stared at the teenager, who was gashed, cut and bruised that he looked nothing like a prince. He put the tonic near Annie, who smelt it. “Hypnotizing potion?” She asked. He nodded. “What will this do for us?” Annie asked again. “Using it on Evie?” Starr asked dumbly. “Starr, it would be stupid to use it on her. Her ‘true love’ would rescue her,” Tobias snapped. “I’ve decided to use it on two people.” “Who?” Nicky asked. Tobias slid a piece of paper he found to the group. You are royally invited to the FRABJOUS DAY BALL December 20th Hosted by Queen Mirana and King Chester in honour of Princess Evie Cheshire “Ever heard of Proceeders commandments?” Tobias asked. “You… You will… Poison her parents?” Nicky asked “If her Parents make a commandment for their daughter to marry me, she can’t escape that, and neither can her love, either,” Tobias explained. All the crew held a shocked face. Rider finally spoke. “And here I thought that our leader was pathetic and wouldn’t succeed.” Tobias grinned evilly at Rider’s words.

Part 25
Evie and Hope instantly lunged at him, but Aric managed to hold both of them back with one arm. “Whoa,” said Aric. “Isn’t that guy dead? Am I hallucinating?” He stepped back to study Tobias, but in doing so Aric loosened his grip on the girls. Just as the two Nevergirls grabbed Tobias, he vanished. When Evie and Hope turned around, looking for him, the scene around them changed too. Hope began to vanish next to Evie and as Evie disappeared, an Evergirl grabbed her arm as the School for Good and Evil swirled like paints mixed together, and as they materialized, Evie recognized Snowy. “I’m not letting you fight him alone,” huffed the dark-haired princess. And as they finally solidified on a rocky mountain, Evie’s mouth fell open in shock. “That’s… that’s Wonderland,” she said. “We’re back here?” groaned Snowy. “I hoped we were permanently gone.” “Well, you can hope no more,” said a voice. Both girls whirled to see Tobias, standing on the top of the mountain a couple yards above them. “You…” said Evie. “I cannot believe I ever liked you, you foul dung-snorting hippo-headed-” “I think that’s enough for you, Snowy,” said Evie. She craned her head back up to see Tobias, cape whipping in the wind, with a grim yet insufferably smug smile. She spat on the snowy earth. “I was hoping I’d catch you alone to do this, yet of course the Good always stick together, so…” He pulled a pink bottle from his pocket and bent to one knee. “Evie of Wonderland, will you be my bride?” Evie knew the answer. “No.” “Then you leave me no choice.” He threw the bottle straight for her swan crest and it shattered on impact, covering her chest in gooey pink liquid that dissipated immediately into the clouds. Evie fell to snow and earth, her mind broken with pain. As she sunk into the frosty snow, her brain, already clouded with pain, was now splitting in confusion. Tobias…Aric…Friends…Enemies…Ever…Never…Tobias…Aric…Aric…TOBIAS! A single voice curled through her mind. The Good love. But she had already found her true love. Slowly, she rose to her knees, dazed. She smiled and took Tobias’s hand, ignoring Snowy’s shocked looks, and he pulled her up to the ledge. “Well, I see we have no use for you anymore,” said Tobias. He lifted his hand and blasted Snowy off the cliff. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snowy plunged down the mountain. Wind rushed by her face, painfully reminding her of Evie’s betrayal. How could her friend, who’d she’d been locked in a dungeon with, gone with him? But then she saw a girl in black pants and a black tee shirt skydiving through the fog, straight toward her. Had she recounted and come to save Snowy? Then she saw Tobias, cape spread like wings, soaring after her. Snowy’s heart plunged. Evie had come to finish her off, hadn’t she. So Evie came closer, her head pointed like an arrow for Snowy, arms pressed to sides, and she came down much faster than her. Snowy had her back to the ground, her arms and legs flapping in all directions, and an empty heart. She would die in midair, far away with her friends. But then Evie changed course. She dove sideways, dodging Snowy’s falling body, and as she turned her head, nearly blinded by the wind in her eyes, she saw the Nevergirl slowly transform into an eagle, a huge one made of gold with long feathery wings and razor sharp talons made of the same deadly metal. Snowy waited for her to turn, for her to tear her apart… But instead Evie spread her wings and Snowy landed on her back. She expected sharp pain, but instead she found soft feathers but sharp words. “Hold on to my neck. We can outfly Tobias, but he can fly with that stupid silk cape.” said Evie the Bird. “He will follow us, but- HANG ON!” Snowy flipped over and grabbed Evie’s neck, holding on tight as powerful wings soared toward a distant mountain peak. “We can make it, but we just need to lose him.” said Evie. “Mind using a simple stun spell?” Snowy grinned, but her teeth froze and she closed her lips. “S-sure,” she chattered. With a blast of fingerglow, she fired a spell at the rapidly approaching figure. As Tobias plunged, no longer able to follow them, Evie landed on a tall tree covered in fresh green leaves. Ow! Snowy plunged through sharp branches, feeling small scratches form on her cheek, she hoped that Evie fared better. Then she got caught on the last branch, a rather thick one, and stared at the exhausted eagle below her. Her jacket ripped on the branch, and she fell into a bush. As she crawled out, she heard a “My my! You young girls are very far from school.” And there was a flash of light. Snowy climbed out of the shrub, picking leaves out of her hair, and suddenly stopped. An owl was sitting above them. As the bird clucked at Evie, now in human form and fully clothed in a black tank, black skirt, and smeared makeup. “Gosh.” said Snowy. “Never seen a talking owl.” The bird huffed. “This is just a makeshift form. Excuse me.” And the owl turned into a woman with a bloodred dress, forest green eyes, and brown high heels. She frowned at them. “I can send you back, but you have to take me with you.” Then she grinned, “I’ll do that now.” She spread he arms and a huge beam of golden light shot from the ground and vanished into the clouds. “Well, I guess this is when we all leave. There, and we get back to school. Yay.” said Evie. The woman saw her face and laughed. “Oh, that boy won’t come back any time soon.” And so, the three new friends linked arms and stepped into the golden light. Chapter 24
The rest of the group came barreling after Aric. “Hope! Evie!” Willow yelled rushing down the dungeon steps. Allison grabbed a large rusty key off the wall and unlocked Each cell, freeing all the students. “Oh my god! What happened here!?” Ellie squeaked feeling light headed from all the blood. “Evie saved me.” Said Aric “we killed Tobias!” Evie added raising her fist triumphantly. “Then where is his corpse?” Rose breathed stumbling back into Velvet. “I-I-I killed him! I shot him with a death spell!” Evie stammered. “It doesn’t matter we have everyone that went missing we can go back to school now. Who remembers how Tobias got you into wonderland?” Said Ally turning to the 11 lost students. An ever named grace piped up “He jumped down a white rabbit hole.” “Do you know where it is?” Willow asked “there’s only one inside of the school grounds, it’s in the pumpkin patch in the blue forest.” “We might be able to trap him in wonderland! Or at least make it impossible for him to get back into school.” Hope exclaimed. “But we would have to get there before him.” “Well what are we standing around for lets go!” Jack snapped. Everyone gathered in the center of the dungeon into a tight huddle, Evie transported them over to the White Castle. “Evie! Why’d you being us here we have to make sure that Tobias is stuck in wonderland!” Jane chimed “I had to say goodbye to someone first.” She sighed walking up to the castle gates. She stumbled and fell multiple times, due to the fact that she hadn’t eaten in 3 days. Aric came up behind her and picked her up. “Hey! Put me down! Let go of me!” Evie screamed kicking her legs. “I’m not putting you down if you fall again you could hit your head on a rock or something.” “Ugh! Your impossible!” She grunted, then she settled back into his arms and let him carry her into the castle. Everyone else followed them into the brilliant White Foyer, most of the captors mumbled in confusion, but Hope, Willow, and Allison ran in after Aric and Evie. “Evie! Darling, what happened to you!?” Her mother yelped. Ally walked up to the queen, “it’s a long story we just came to say goodbye, but Evie and the others need food, do you have some to spare?” “Of course come along!” She led them into the grand dining room then disappeared into the kitchen for a moment, then returned with a small army of staff all carrying silver platters. Aric placed Evie, who was falling in and out of consciousness in her seat. All the students attacked the feast, gorging themselves on Sandwiches, ribs, chicken pie, yogurt parfaits, ect. The white queen sat at the head of the table trying to catch everyone’s attention, but no one listened. “Excuse me!” She peeped, the queen sighed then put two fingers in her mouth and let out an ear piercing whistle. Everyone turned. “Would someone care to explain what exactly happened and why some of you are covered in blood?” “Yes, please do tell your story.” Said a creepy voice from the other end of the table. Everyone turned to see the Cheshire Cat still in human form wearing his sinister smile. “Chester.” The queen nodded dryly. “Why hello Mirana.” He grinned. The queen was about to reply but Evie interrupted her. “We’ll tell you the story of you two stop acting all weird.” “We’re all ears.” Cheshire smirked. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Evie told her parents of their journey and encounters with Tobias (of course everyone helped in explaining the story) the room was filled with an uncomfortable silence, until the Cheshire Cat finally said something. “Wait so he’s your boyfriend!?” He sneered, staring at Aric. “I knew it I knew he was her boy friend!” Her mother added. “Really!? Some psycho tried to marry me so he could be crowned king, Aric died, all my friends followed your fairy tale to find us and all you can think about is my boyfriend!?” Evie screeched. They didn’t listen. instead her dad disappeared only to come back a second later atop Aric’s chair in cat form. “Sooo… Your Evies boyfriend…” He started, swinging his purple tale in Aric’s face. Suddenly the cat started bombarding him with questions like: “are you sure your a never? What are your grades like? Who are your parents? What’s the most evil thing you’ve ever done? What’s your favorite pie? Do you like pie? Are you allergic to cats? Are your eyes naturally purple or is it a spell?” “Dad!” Evie interrupted. “Sorry” he cackled, transporting back to his seat in human form. “I don’t mean to cut this gathering short but if we’re going to trap Tobias then we should probably get going soon.” Said Jack. “Your right.” The white queen replied standing up from her seat. Everyone walked outside for final goodbyes before Evie teleported them back to school. She gave her dad a hug then went to say goodbye to her mom. The queen wrapped Evie in her arms and softly kisses the top of her head. “Nevers don’t cry my dear.” She soothed wiping away the tear that escaped Evies crystal blue eyes. She rejoined her friends, they held hands in a circle so Evie could transport them all back to school. “Ready?” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The group looked up at two castles towering over them one sparkly and pretty the other black and sinister. They signed with relief. “We made it!” Jane enthused “well, well, well.” A voice cooed behind them. Aric squeezed Evies hand. “Tobias.” Chapter 23
” Who the heck are you?” Willow shrieked in surprise ” Are you serious?” Velvet said ” That’s Alice Liddel!!” Rose squealed ” Alice of Wonderland!” Ellie was practically jumping up and down ” Yes, girls” Alice said calmly eyeing their swan crests on their chests ” You must be from the school!” ” Yes, we need to find our friend who are gone and we can get outta here!!” Aric turned to leave ” Your friend is in great danger.” Alice said softly Aric turned ” Evie?” He whispered ” Yes, the daughter of the Cheshire Cat and White Queen.” ” Where is she?” Ally shot up from her toadstool ” I don’t know, but I do know a boy, Tobias I believe, is asking for her hand.” Alice set her bunny on the ground ” WHAT????!!!!!?????!!!!” Aric screamed ” Ha, lover boy just got beat!!” Willow joked ” Shut up!” Aric said blushing ” Hand? As in marriage?!?!” Jack asked puzzled ” Yes, we need to save her!!” Aric cried ” Wow, calm down, we need a plan!” Velvet said ” He really likes her…” Jane whispered quietly to Marigold as they watched him pace back and forth ” Let’s think where would he keep Evie?” Aric paced ” Oh i know!!!” Velvet exclaimed ” What?” Aric asked hopefully ” We’re following Alice’s path right?!?” ” Yep.” ” Then he should be where she faced her Nemesis!!” ” Who was your Nemesis?!?” Ally asked Alice ” The Queen of Hearts.” She replied calmly ” To the Queen of Heart’s castle!!” Aric yelled as the group headed off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, Evie was no happier, actually she was worse ‘Marriage’ she thought. She had been thinking about it every seconds she had. What if she said yes? Wait, she wouldn’t ever What would her parents say if they found out? Would they allow this? No they wouldn’t, this was blackmail, no this was worse than that. ” Evie, you know why I’m here.” She looked up to see Tobias standing in front of her. ” Yes, yes I do. And don’t bother!!” Evie barked ” Won’t you consider?” Tobias whined, obviously fake ” No! My friends are gonna come for me.” Evie snapped ” And if they don’t?” ” I’m positive at least Aric will.” Evie whispered looking down ” Ah yes, Aric…” Tobias began but was interrupted by a loud yell ” EVIE?!?!?!” A familiar voice rang out. A voice Evie knew well and clear. Aric. ” Aric!!!” Evie screamed. She barely saw his face when Tobias attacked him to the ground with a sword. Quickly. Aric snatched a spear leaning against a wall and the two were locked in a sword fight. ‘ All over me.’ Evie thought. Aric and Tobias were fighting over her, a never, evil. Her finger lit up to be a dark shade of black. Watching the fight, Evie quickly undid the chains with her finger. ” No!” Evie looked up to see Tobias spearing his sword into Aric’s chest. He fell, Evie fainted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evie awoke startled hoping it was all a dream, but Aric’s breathless body still lay in front of her ” No.” Evie said quietly ” No, no,no!” ” Yes, now come along now, Aric is no more.” Tobias said from behind her. ” No.” She said clutching Aric’s body to hers ” What?” Tobias said ” I said no!!!!” Evie yelled as she turned and blasted him to the ground, killing him ” No.” She whispered turning back to Aric’s motionless body in here lap. Her eyes watered. ‘Nevers don’t cry.’ Her mothers voice rang inside her head. But it was to late. Evie sobbed, tears rapidly spilling down her face. She thought back to their dates, their kisses, the times the Evers had teased her. Before she could stop herself, she kissed him Her lips pressed against his cold, lifeless lips. They began to warm up. Evie broke away in shock. Aric’s eyes slowly rose. ” Would never kiss me, huh?” He teased. She hugged him tears still running down her checks. ” Do you love me?” Aric whispered in her ear. ” Yes.” She whispered back. He kissed her. Their lips touched. Evie wished the moment would never end. Chapter 22
“Great,” Aric hissed sarcastically, plopping down onto a toadstool, “First, people start disappearing; then, we transport ourselves to Cheshiregirl’s Crazyland; Cheshiregirl vanished; and now we have to follow in the footsteps of some long-dead, stupid, simpering, little Evergirl. Perfect. We’re doomed.” “Hey!” Tina shouted, taking offense. Ellie gasped, “How can you say that?! Alice Liddel is a legend!” “Yeah,” Jack snorted, “Among Evers…” Velvet put her hands on her hips, “And…your point is?” Willow face-palmed. “Everybody calm down!” someone commanded. All at once; Aric, Ellie, Tina, Jack, Velvet, and Willow whipped their heads around to find the source of the voice; and spotted Marigold. She blinked and pretended to fix her hair. “Thank you,” Marigold trilled, “Now, fighting isn’t getting us anywhere. We need to focus on the task at hand.” “Yeah! We have to find Snowy, Hope, and Evie,” Rose chipped in. Jane nodded, “All we have to do is visit the places Alice did during her fairytale.” “So,” said Allison, “Where do we start?” “We’ve already begun,” Velvet pointed out. Jack raised an eyebrow, “What do you mean?” “The first thing Alice did in Wonderland was drink a mysterious liquid and shrink,” Velvet explained. “Oh! And we’ve already done that!” Rose exclaimed, catching on. Willow crossed her arms, “What now?” “Don’t know, don’t care,” Aric grumped. Ellie ignored him, “Alice followed a rabbit through Wonderland. Maybe we can go seek out an animal to guide us.” The other Evergirls nodded like Ellie’s theory made total sense. At the same time, the Nevers were so mortified that they each had a sudden urge to snap the necks of the ‘bubble-headed’ Evers behind them. “That’s the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard,” Allison snapped, “No silly critter would help us…” As if on cue, a bush behind the ten bickering students rustled, and out hopped a fluffy bunny with snow-white fur. “Come,” it beckoned, “Before it’s too…late.” The bunny gave a slight smirk, before scampering ahead. “A rabbit!” Marigold squealed. The Evergirls dashed after it, leaving the exasperated Nevers to catch up on their own. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” Jack muttered. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you’re only three inches tall, the world instantly becomes more dangerous. A stroll through the grass is suddenly a jungle safari, stepping over a medium-sized rock transforms into the equivalent of a mountain trek, and a worm moseying by resembles a snake preparing to strike. Tina, Aric, Rose, Marigold, Allison, Willow, Jane, Jack, Velvet, and Ellie would know. They had spent all afternoon chasing a talking rabbit. The rabbit was a giant compared to the ten friends and their present state; so it could maneuver around Wonderland with ease. However, the tiny Evs and Nevs could barely keep up with the long-eared rodent. Until…they could no longer even see it hopping up ahead. Willow knew they’d reached a dead end when the only thing in front of them was a seemingly endless stretch of blue. “Oh crud!” she called out to no one in particular. “What’s wrong?” Tina chirped. The companions were blocked by an ocean, not just a puddle, a real ocean. In fact, it was Wonderland’s only body of salt water. It was the “Ocean of Tears.” “We have to cross the ‘Ocean of Tears,'” Willow announced, dread creeping into her voice. Rose nudged Jane, “She sounds scared. Nevers aren’t easily frightened,” Rose whispered, eyes trained on Willow. “The Ocean of Tears must be extremely bad,” Jane responded. “What is the Ocean of Tears?” Aric growled. “I had to do a report on it in History…So I’m a bit of an expert…Did any of you notice that most of the people we’ve met in Wonderland so far were friendly? It’s no coincidence. As sick as it sounds, they gave up all of their sadness and despair so they could be forever happy. Without any negative emotions, these people can no longer balance their thoughts. THAT'S why everyone’s a little ‘mad’ around here. Craziness aside, this ocean was the dumping ground for bad feelings. The ocean is cursed. Not to mention, there are pirates, who scour this sea for hostages. That makes these waters pretty deadly – Even to Nevers,” Willow explained, “And the worst part is, if we don’t get across, we’ll never save Hope and Evie.” “And Snowy!” Jane added. “So…what do we do?” Ellie squeaked. “It looks like we have to brave the swim,” Allison guessed. “Swim across?!” Tina blurted. Marigold peered down at the swirling blue waters, “You must be joking!” “Yeah! You might not have noticed, but we’re only three feet tall!” Willow snipped. “We don’t have to swim,” Rose piped. Aric rolled his violet eyes, “What?!” “We can build a raft and float across,” Rose suggested. “Sure,” Jack agreed, “For once, and Ever has a good idea.” Allison groaned, “Uggg! A boat. Great. How long is that gonna take? I think we can handle a little water…At least us Nevers can. Am I right?” But no one could hear her. They were already off searching for twigs and vines to make a raft with…And no one heard her splash either… Allison finally knew what it was like to be drowning in sorrows. She was literally being hit by waves of sadness. The water had been calm when she’d first dove in. Everything had been fine, serene even; that is, until a tendril of enchanted water shot up from the depths. It snared her ankle and dragged the struggling Nevergirl down. Allison wrestled the cursed ocean waters to no avail. It was no use. Fighting it only made the current tug her deeper under; and she couldn’t hold her breath forever. At last, she let her muscles slacken, as if to say, ‘you win.’ Almost instantly, the living current let go of the girl in its grasp. Drowning a willing victim was no fun. Allison drifted to the surface, and greedily gulped in the crisp air. As soon as her oxygen supply replenished, a cackle escaped her throat. She’d tricked the Ocean of Tears. Allison knew that pretending to admit defeat to the melancholy waves would free her. Without any further ado, she resumed swimming; without shedding a tear… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The space on the raft was cramped. As the floating structure drifted across the Ocean of Tears with ease, the nine passengers – who had to sit shoulder-to-shoulder in order to all fit; were claustrophobic; sweaty; seasick; and miserable. Even when some of the Evers periodically attempted to lighten up the mood, everybody usually ended up the way they began, fuming and annoyed. “Row, row, row your boat…” Marigold sang sweetly, yet again trying to make the voyage more pleasant. “Not again!” Willow groaned. “…Gently down the stream…” warbled Tina, continuing the song Marigold started. Aric’s face turned crimson with fury, “Shut up!!!!” Ellie smirked in spite of the Nevers, and belted out, “…Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily…” Willow clamped her hands over her ears as the rest of the Evers chimed in with, “…Life is but a – ” “Hey guys, where’s Allison?” Jack interrupted, silencing the irritating song. Willow’s jaw dropped. She was clearly shocked, but all she could manage to blurt was, “Now you ask?” “Oh my gosh!” Rose gasped. Jane bit her lip, “I can’t believe we lost Allison!” “We were too busy arguing and singing, that we didn’t even notice her disappearance!” Marigold cried. Velvet looked down, ashamed, “We’re terrible friends!” “No. Actually, Allison is OUR friend,” Willow snapped, gesturing to herself and the other Nevers, “And she can handle herself.” “There she is!” Tina called, looking out at the splashing sea. Everyone else followed her eyes, and sure enough, Allison was there. She was leisurely backstroking through the waves. “Ally, what do you think you’re doing?!” Jack demanded. Allison looked up and nonchalantly replied, “Just going for a swim.” The conversation was cut short as a large fishing net fell from above, capturing all ten individuals. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ellie had always wondered what it would be like to get kidnapped by pirates, but never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that the pirates would be lobsters… Shortly after they got trapped in the net, the ten friends were fished out of the water and onto the deck of a little ship. The first thing that anyone noticed was the ship’s crew. Every member had a red exoskeleton, large claws, and two wispy antennae on the top of their heads. In short, they were lobsters – actual lobsters. “I demand to speak to your captain!” Rose ordered, as the crew drug the net onto the ship. The largest of the crustaceans stepped forward. It wore a tiny blue hat haphazardly on its head. “Welcome aboard the Rock. I’m Captain Lyvech, ” he greeted gruffly. (“The Rock? If you could name a boat anything you wanted, wouldn’t you think you would come up with something more creative than ‘the Rock?’ ” Jack muttered under his breath.) “Let us go!” Tina shrieked. Lyvech clicked his claws, “No can do. You see, the Ocean of Tears belongs to me…so everything in it is mine. Therefore, YOU are all mine,” His beady eyes spotted the glittering swan crests over the hearts of his prisoners, “Ah, students of the School for Good and Evil…Me too.” Velvet wrinkled her nose, “You? I don’t know if you have any mirrors or anything, but I do know that everyone is a bit ‘mad’ here, so maybe you just didn’t notice…but you’re a lobster.” “Aye! But I wasn’t always a lobster!” Lyvech fired, jabbing a claw at a faded black spot on his chest, “I used to be a Neverboy! It’s not my fault that the School Master decided I wasn’t a good enough villain! It’s not my fault I was ranked at the bottom of my class! It’s not my fault I’m a lobster! ” “Actually, that sounds like it absolutely IS your fault,” Rose argued. “Yeah. Maybe if you’d tried harder in school, you would have been to villain,” Allison pointed out. “You got exactly what you deserved,” Aric added. “No,” the captain seethed, “But YOU will!” He turned to one of the lobsters behind them, “Throw these scalawags in the brig, and set the course for the Caucus. We’re taking this group to the Dodo.” Allison nudged Ellie, “Do you know what the ‘Dodo’ is?” “A bird,” Ellie replied, “A bird who traps other creatures in an arena called the Caucus, and forces them to run an endless race. There’s no way to win a Caucus race. All contestants are doomed to run forever until they fall down dead.” “Can’t we use magic?” Jack asked. Ellie looked somber, “Our magic doesn’t work when we’re small.” “How do you know all of that?” Aric inquired meanly. “I read fairy tales and do my homework,” Ellie said. “Great. Just great.” Willow hissed. Jane began to weep, “Now we won’t be able to save Ellie, Snowy, and Hope!” “Wonderland doesn’t seem very wonderful,” Marigold fretted. The ship’s brig was even worse that the raft – In other words, it was not meant to hold ten people. The space was so compact that Aric was pressed up against the bars…Yet, for once, the Neverboy was not angry. When the lobsters had shoved the friends under the deck, and into the cell, Aric spotted a small box beside an overturned barrel. He’d swiped it and hid it in his pocket. Inside the box was a tiny square cake with blue icing, and candy letters that read : Eat me, embellishing the top. On the side of the box, a short inscription said: Take a bite. What do you know? If the spell works, You will grow… Aric hadn’t told anyone his plan. He needed an element of surprise. For once, Evil would save the day… The ship docked at the Caucus the next morning. When it reached land, the lobsters their struggling prisoners from the brig, led them onto the beach, and forced them into the Caucus. “Forward, backward, inward, outward, bottom to the top, nothing can be grander than a race that never stops!” the Dodo burbled, as the ten new captives entered his presence. He was an ugly bird – with his gray matted feathers, scattered bald patches, and chipped beige beak – who sat perched on a giant mushroom. The Evergirls’ faces contorted in disgust at the sight of him. “That poor bird!” Marigold whispered, “There’s definitely something wrong with it.” “I think I’ve just been scarred for life!” Jane commented. “I see some new contestants for my race!” the Dodo called, laughing manically, “Everybody take your place, you’re going to start the Caucus Ra – ” Those were the last words the wicked bird ever uttered, for at that moment, a giant hand reached out and snapped its neck. “Now you’ve been scarred for life,” Tina told Jane, as rust-colored blood spewed from the feathery corpse. “Okay. So, the Dodo’s gone…but who’s the giant?” Allison questioned. “You tell me,” the giant cackled. Allison and Willow looked up, into it’s huge violet eyes, “Aric?” Aric the giant laughed heartily, before snatching the dear bird’s mushroom throne, and devouring it in one massive bite. Just like that, he shrunk back down to three inches tall, “For the record,” he snapped, “If any of you try to thank me for saving your pathetic butts, or if you even try to tell anyone about this, you will end up like the chicken. Got it?” Everyone nodded, and no one dared to correct him… Once the ten friends exited the Caucus, the white rabbit suddenly reappeared. “Time is of the essence,” he called, before hopping into the distance. *many hours later* The ten friends had been chasing the bunny all day long. By the time the sun had begun to set, they were all too fatigued to continue. But just as the group stopped to rest a while… “Whoooo are you??” a voice behind them wondered. Expecting to see a giant caterpillar (they’d all read the story before), Aric; Jack; Allison; Willow; Rose; Jane; Velvet; Ellie; Marigold; and Tina’s heads snapped around. Instead of an insect, a woman stood there, stroking the fur of the white rabbit in her arms. She had pale skin, big brown eyes, and soft blonde hair; She wore a flowing blue gown. She inspected the bedraggled teenagers around her, “Ah, so you must be the young students who are reliving my fairytale… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, in a dank dungeon cell beneath the catacombs of Wonderland, Evie was starving. It had been three days since her capture, and three times each day Tobias had come by to ask for her hand in marriage. And each time, Evie had refused; but Tobias found a way to punish her. For each refusal, Evie was denied a meal. The only thing she was given to stay alive was enough water to survive. Evie tugged at the chains binding her, but they held fast. She HAD to escape, she had to. Growling, she tried again, but had no luck. “You know, you’ll never get out of here without my help,” Tobias warned, appearing and opening the door to Evie’s cell. The Nevergirl ground her teeth, “Let. Me. Go!!!” Tobias chuckled, “Fiery one, aren’t you? I’ll tell you what. Agree to marry me, Evie, and I’ll give you your freedom…as well as the freedom of your friends…” “I’d rather DIE than marry you!” Evie snarled, lunging at him as far as her shackles would allow. Tobias smirked, “As you wish…” He slammed the cell door shut. Darkness… Part 21 (GIRLOFGOOD)
”So we need to follow the yellow brick road,” Willow said. ”Right? And find mushrooms that change our size.” ”And stray off the path. Hey, maybe the Queen of Hearts has them!” peeped Ally. ”And we find them and rescue them,” confirmed Jack. Suddenly, there was a loud rustle. They whirled. ”Evie, do you know what that was?” asked Aric. There was no answer. ”Evie?” said Aric again, frantically looking for her. But it was no use. Evie was gone. Evie was rushed away, between trees and through bushes (ouch) until they reached a small bunker. ”I’m gonna MURDER you,” Evie said through her gag, but it came out like ”Mm gnn MRDR yyyy,” The masked figure looked down at her. He (he or she? Evie guessed he) said, ”Well, here we are, princess. So what brings you to Wonderland, daughter of the White Queen?” Evie stiffened. How did he know she was the Queen’s daughter? He ripped out her gag. ”I AM GONNA MURDER YOU.” Evie said. ”Oh really.” The masked man sounded amused. ”Yes I-” she snapped before he stuffed the gag back into her mouth. ”Mff,” Evie complained, but by then he’d opened the door of the bunker. Five people looked up at her from around a table. ”Oh, so this is her?” said one of them, a brunette girl said disapprovingly. ”I remembered her to be more… Pretty.” Her captor said, ”Oh, shut up, Starr. We need her for the ransom.” Starr? That rang a bell somewhere. The boy next to her looked up. ”Oh, right. Hi, Evie.” She definitely knew him from somewhere. Something clicked in her brain and her hands grew clammy. It was definitely one of the disgusting Evergirls’ crushes. ”Rider?” gasped Evie under her gag. It must have shown in her face because Rider snickered. ”She recognizes me,” he said. As the other three (a boy named Danny, a girl named Nicky, and a girl named Annie, all from school) chimed in, her captor snorted. ”Should I put her in the dungeons or not?” ”Sure,” Danny said. The other four agreed. ”All right,” said her captor. ”But can I take off the mask after I put her in for the reaction? It was so funny with my crush and that Nevergirl.” The five nodded and he took her down a steep set of stairs in the back of the room. They opened into a small stone room, with cells on both sides. He walked down the aisle, and then they passed by Hope. Her friend’s eyes widened, but then her captor kept walking and threw her inside a small, empty cell. He dropped her inside and cut her binds, securing shackles to her wrists and ankles, then exited the cell and locked the door. Evie instantly spit out her gag and shouted obscene things at him, but he just locked the cell. Then he took off his mask and she froze. Her heart stopped. ”Tough luck,” said Tobias. Chapter 20
Evie looked at the paper speared to the tree with an arrow. “I feel like I’ve seen this paper before,” she said. Rose nodded. “You have. There were notes on this paper in our room, remember? They had a strange script on them, but it was the same on each. Translating those must be the clue.” “How do we decipher them?” Tina asked. “Did we throw them away? asked Willow. “I have a photographic memory,” Rose said. “Ally gave me your note, to see if I could find a match in my books. I memorized both.” “Can you remake them?” asked Marigold. “I can do better. I had them in my pocket when we came here. If I have help, I can get them out of my dress pocket.” “Is there an easier way?” asked Ellie. “I could remake them, but they could have been in special ink or something. I say we bring them back here and cast a shrinking spell so we can hold them normally in our current size,” replied Rose. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fifteen minutes later, they met again at the tree. Aric and Jack had managed to get the papers out of the dress pocket, and Willow shrunk them. Jane looked over Rose’s shoulder as she studied the script. “Evie, come here and see if you can make sense of this,” said Jane. The script was odd. At first it seemed to be made of figures and shapes, but then it changed to swirling lines and bright colors. 𓀀𓀁𓀂𓀃𓀄𓀅𓀆𓀇𓀈𓀉𓀊: 𓁻𓁼𓁽𓁾𓁿𓂀𓂁𓂂𓂃𓂄𓂅𓂆𓂇𓂈𓂉𓂊𓂋𓂌𓂍𓂎𓂏𓂐𓂑𓂒𓂓𓂔𓂕 𓂖𓂗𓂘𓂙𓂚𓂛𓂜𓂝𓂞𓂟𓂠𓂡𓂢𓂣𓂤𓂥𓂦𓂧 𓂨𓂩𓂪𓂫𓂬𓂭𓂮𓂯𓂰𓂱𓂲𓂳𓂴𓂵𓂶𓂷𓂸𓂹𓂺𓂻 𓂼𓂽𓂾𓂿𓃀𓃁𓃂𓃃𓃄𓃅𓃆𓃇𓃈𓃉𓃊𓃋𓃌𓃍𓃎𓃏𓃐𓃑 𓃒𓃓𓃔𓃕𓃖𓃗𓃘𓃙𓃚𓃛𓃜𓃝𓃞𓃟𓃠𓃡𓃢𓃣𓃤𓃥𓃦𓃧𓃨 𓃩𓃪𓃫𓃬𓃭𓃮𓃯𓃰𓃱𓃲𓃳𓃴𓃵𓃶𓃷 𓃸𓃹𓃺𓃻𓃼𓃽𓃾𓃿𓄀𓄁𓄂𓄃𓄄𓄅𓄆𓄇𓄈𓄉𓄊𓄋 𓄌𓄍𓄎𓄏𓄐𓄑𓄒𓄓𓄔𓄕𓄖𓄗𓄘𓄙𓄚𓄛𓄜𓄝𓄞𓄟𓄠𓄡𓄢𓄣𓄤𓄥𓄦𓄧 𓄿𓅀𓅁𓅂𓅃𓅄𓅅𓅆 Evie came over and gave a little gasp. “It’s Nonsense!” she exclaimed. “I don’t see how that helps us,” said Aric. Evie gave him a withering glare. “Nonsense is an ancient script of Wonderland. It changes shape every few minutes, but it always translates the same, no matter what form it’s in. The only way to read it is for a Wonderland native to cast a secret spell on it.” Rose nodded as Evie picked up the paper and studied it, looking for a key as to what spell to use. “It’s a real thing. The royalty used it to send secret messages.” “Got it!” said Evie. She muttered under her breath and the script changed. Your Task: You know that one was here before, Follow her steps, not much more. Use mushrooms to change your size, Discern the truth from countless lies. Turn off the path and lose your way, To find the place where wanderers stray. You’ll find your friends inside this place, But first it’s me you must escape. “Guys, come over here!” Jane said. “They figured it out!” “What could the riddle mean?” wondered Tina. “Well, I should think it’s quite plain what we do,” said Marigold. “What?” Jack, Ally, and Willow said at the same time. “Follow Alice’s path,” answered Evie. Chapter 19
Evie’s mother ushered them in. ”You must…be tired…stay a while!!” she said. Guiding them through the sparkling silver and snow white corridors, floors sparkling like diamonds. It was blindingly clean and obnoxiously white. “If I’d have known I’d have packed sunglasses…”Mumbled Aric. “We should have locked the door.” Ally sighed to Evie. Evie nodded. ”We should have buried them under the first tree we saw when we met them.” She grumbled. “You talking about us and we’re not invited in this conversation, shame on you!?” Jack faked a whine wrapping his arm around ally. Ally smirked at him sarcastically, pulling his hand of off her. “Keep your hands and nose to yourself…” she said. “Or???” jack prodded. “I’ll remove them.” Ally replied. “but then how can I-“ Jack broke off as ally elbowed him in the stomach. Evie snickered, Until Aric appeared by her side. ”Touch me and you’re dead.” She growled. “Is that all? feww…You never told us that you’re mum was…uh…the white queen…like…The…” he stopped when Evie glared at him. “Aaaawwww!!! They look so cute when they're bonding!!!” squealed jane. Both pairs froze causing the others to collide into them. Then all four at once turned round. ”WE ARE NOT BONDING…AND WE ARE DEFINITELY NOT CUTE!!!!!!” They shouted. Jane sighed. ”well sorry…” The white queen almost tittered. ”I can tell you’ve made quite a lot of friends…” Evie and the others turned to face her. ”We’re not friends…” Evie said slowly. Her mother raised a brow, disbelievingly. ”So…why are you here, then.” she asked. “We’re looking for our friend Hope…” Evie said “And Snowy…” Chipped in Rose. “And Starr” Added Jane. “mmm…Come you must be tired…rest for a bit and we can talk about it in the evening…” Hummed Evie’s mother. She ushered them up a grand stairway and to a large cosy living room area. ”We can discuss it over dinner… I’ll get something on!” The white queen said. “But-“ Evie started to protest but her mother had already left. She sighed. “What now?” jack asked. “um…” the others started. “I know!!! Ally can tell us about her date with jack!!!!” Squealed Jane. “WHAT!!! OHHHHH…NOOOO…JUST NO!!! “ Ally growled. “You promised….” Willow jabbed. “WAH? No I didn’t….” Ally squeaked. The Evers set out cushions and sat down, eagerly. Evie and willow sighed shrugging before joining them in a semi-circle. “How bad can it be, honestly.” Jack said. Sitting next to ally. Ally sighed.”Urgh…..FINE!!!” she groaned. “So…what is it…” asked Jane. “Did you kiss?” Chipped Ellie. “Well –“ “Did you share an ice cream?” Velvet squealed. “What-Ew…no but-” “How about-“ “SHUT UP AND LET ME FINISH!!!!!” Ally shouted. The Ever’s went silent and returned to sitting still. “Or you could keep going…Ally’s started blushing andshetotallylookssuperadorablewhensheblushes…”Mumbled jack. Ally shot him a glare, trying to hide her flushing face.” Anyway…as I was about to say before I was so rudely interrupted-“She broke off. A loud **** shaking the room. ”OH WHAT IS IT NOW!!!!!” she screeched. Evie stood up and opened the door. A blue glowing flash swirling with lightning sparks slicing down the hallway at breakneck speed. Evie slammed the door shut. “What’s going on…”Aric stood up. The door started creaking…Evie stepped away from the door. ”You’ll have to finish your story later…because I think we’re cutting short this stay!!” She said. “Is that supposed to be a joke?” Aric asked. ”because it isn’t very funny!!!” Evie rolled her eyes “GET DOWN!!!” she yelled. The Evergirls crashed into each other pulling cushion over their heads like shields. The Never’s including Aric and jack scrambled behind chairs. The door smashed open the blue light entered…growling like a lion. A blisteringly cold wind propelled through the room and in a flash of icy blue they were gone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Later) Marigold groaned. “Urh…well that spoilt a very good evening meal…and…totally ruined my hair…” she sighed sitting up. “Where are we?” Willow muttered, rubbing her head. “Are we still in Wonderland?” Asked jane, sitting up. The others slowly got up one by one. Staring at their surrounds, a large room, making them seem like mice. “Do you know any other place with floating clocks, candles, chairs and…wait…where did that dog come from!!!” Evie said. As a sleeping dog floating upwards past her in a basket. A grandfather clock floated upside down past the group. The ever girls looked down. ”w-where’s the floor!!” exclaimed Ellie. The group looked down. ”um…I think it’s a decent time to –SCREAAAAAM!!” Aric yelled. The 11 of them plummeted down. The ever girls holding their skirts down from flying in their faces. “When do we sloooow…d-dooown!!” Marigold stuttered, the air force slapping her hair randomly in her face. “This. is. Not. Fun.” Ally squealed. “About…five seconds ago!!!” Evie called. “B-but we d-didn’t….” Ellie squeaked. “Uh…Brace for impact…” Evie said. “WHAT!!!” the others shrieked. The floor came up to meet them. The group braced themselves for a painful splatting. A small jolt tugged at the group like they’d be tied to a bungee. The Evergirls opened their eyes. The group was suspended inches from the fancy tiled floor. They let out a sigh of relief. The invisible string leg go and the group collapsed on the ground. Groaning they stood up. “When you said everyone’s mad around here…I thought you meant crazy!!” Ellie sighed. “I did…” sighed Evie. Aric patted her pathetically on the shoulder. ”could be worse.” He said. “Is that supposed to reassure me????” Evie scoffed. she walked off, opening a small rosewood door, patterned with flowers and hearts. Jack sighed standing next Aric. ”I’ll never understand girls…” Aric sighed. ”Well think of it this way…You’re still alive…” jack said. “That’s great….now finish your tea party…. Stop being all soppy dopy gooey eyed stupid and figure out something useful to do!!” Ally sighed. “True. All you’ve really done is slow us down and make Evie look soft…” Willow said. “How will fit through that?” Jane asked fixing her hair with her hand as Evie looked through the hand sized door. “Have you read ‘Alice in Wonderland?’ “ Evie sighed. “meh. Don’t believe, hear nothing and only half of what you read.” Jane shrugged. “But where's the table…” Willow asked.” And the bottle…” “yeah it’s not like it’s just going to randomly appear out of-“ Aric broke off to a small poof sound turning round to a fancy glass table with a large vile surround by small wine glasses inscribed with the words ‘Drink me’ “Nice work you did something useful…” Evie smirked patting him on the head. Aric groaned like an annoyed puppy, brushing his hair back into place. “Pick a glass…pour a drink…and let’s hope it only makes us shrink…” mumbled Tina. The group of eleven pick up a small wine glass and poured the shimmering transparent liquid from the bottle out. “Wait…don’t we need a key???” Jack asked. “The doors open I put a pebble in the way…” Evie replied with that the group drank from the glasses shrinking down to the size of a mouse. “eek.. my clothes are growing!!!” Ellie squealed in surprise. “No.. you’re getting smaller.” Sighed willow. “B-b-but…boys….”Whimpered Tina. Aric and jack shared a look.” We won’t look…” they said. “You best….or we’ll gouge your eyes out!!” Snapped the ever’s. The Nevergirl’s sighed, rolling their eyes. The group now small as mice, scampering through their clothes, tearing at them to make suitable wears. The group ran through the open door pushing the pebble now a boulder away the door closing behind them. Leaving them in a breezy open field with flowers larger than trees. “Well…what do we do now?” Tine asked. “I have absolutely no—“ Evie broke off. ”hey what’s that!!” she pointed to an actual tree. Larger than a mountain, from where the group was. They scampered towards it. In the lower tangled room was a heart shaped arrow pinning a piece of open parchment to a tree, tied to the arrow was a scroll of red tinted paper. Evie grabbed the arrow pulling it out and passing it to Ally, she picked up the parchment scrawl on it was writing. ‘‘Let’s play a game. Better hurry if you want to see your friends again. there’s a puzzle piece here and because I’m nice… a list of clues to find the others, you’ve got to find them all before… I. FIND. YOU.’’ Chapter 18
Before they went to her home, Evie decided they had to see one more place before that. It was a place that she had been almost daily when she lived here. She saw a road that had a large fork in the middle of it. She knew exactly where it went. “Allison, do you remember that?” Evie asked, pointing at the fork. Allison smiled. “Sure do,” She answered. “Let’s go to-” “The Mad Hatter Tea Shop!” Allison said with delight. I pulled her hand as we ran towards the fork. I heard everyone else running behind us. Evie stopped to remember some of old memories of her home. Eventually, they came to a small house that looked quite…. Odd. But hey, that's Wonderland for you. “The Mad Hatter Tea Shop,” Velvet said slowly. Evie nodded, pushing open the door. Everyone stared at two men, one with slick black hair styled off to the side, and one with messy brownish red hair. They were obviously arguing over something. The black haired man was disappearing all over the place. “No, you can’t! What about Evie and Ava? We need to find them!” The brownish reddish haired man asked. The black haired man scowled. “Do you think we can just parade into the Queen of Hearts castle like I poof everywhere? Well, Hatter, if you want it off with your head, go ahead, I on the other hand, will think of a plan.” The Mad Hatter scowled back. “If you don’t stop I’ll have IT OFF WITH ALL YOUR HEADS!” Evie yelled. They turned to her. The Cheshire Cat smiled, still in human form. He ran towards Evie. “You’re safe, and dressed ugly,” The Cheshire Cat cringed at the Nevers dumpy black uniforms and magically changed them into normal clothes. “Tea and cookies, anyone?” The Mad Hatter asked. Willow smiled a big smile “Chocolate chip and Chai?” Willow asked hopefully. The Mad Hatter smiled. “And for Miss Allison?” “You KNOW him?” Jack asked. Allison smiled and laughed. Evie eventually joined in too. “Been here many times for sleepovers with Evie,” Allison answered. “I’ll have Orange Pekoe tea with ginger cookies.” Hatter nodded. “And for Evie?” Hatter asked. “I’ll take Green tea with Raspberry snap cookies,” Evie answered. Aric opened his mouth as Evie threw a smirk in his direction. “And for him, Earl Grey.” As the Evers ordered The Nevers sat down at a table with The Chesire Cat, or Ches, as he wanted to be called. He asked for stories of what they had been up to at the school for Evil. “We killed the beast!” Willow remarked. He dropped his tea. “You’re kidding,” he said with a serious tone. “No” Allison replied. Ches stared at them for a long time. “Well, glad to see Evie is doing something while, she’s there. When I was there-” “Dad, we don’t need to hear the story about how you locked an Ever in the Doom Room and they barely came out alive,” Evie overlapped. He looked at her with his twisted smile, which looked remarkably like Evie’s. Eventually, he came out with their tea and cookies. Except for Aric, who got a- “A MOUSE?” He yelled. Evie laughed, then Allison, then Willow, and then the Evergirls. “Earl Grey is the name of his dormouse,” Evie said, through laughter. “It’s. Not. Funny.” He grumbled. Evie laughed as The Hatter handed him a real cup of Earl Grey tea. They ate their tea and cookies and then we’re on their way. “Thanks for stopping by!” Hatter yelled as Evie poofed them away. They ended up by the gates of a beautiful White Castle, Evie’s home. “Come on!” Willow smiled as her, Evie, and Allison ran through the gates. They walked up to the huge castle doors, pushing them open to reveal an elegant whitish blond hair. Evie shed a tear. “Nevers don’t cry, my love,” she soothed. “How would you know, you're an Ever, Mother,” Evie replied, wiping away her tears. “Because I’m your Mother, and I don’t want you embarrassed in front your boyfriend,” she said as Aric, Jack, and the Ever came through the doors. “Are you her MOTHER?” Jack asked stupidly. Evie and the White Queen turned. “Indeed I am,” she answered. Chapter 17
” Wonderland?!?” Ellie squealed.” As in the Wonderland?!” She made the cuckoo sign Evie slowly nodded ” Wonderland is amazing!!” Ally told them as she packed a satchel ” Quick question, How do we get there?” Velvet asked as she packed her own bag ” Well, let’s look!” Ally said as she picked up a book titled ‘ Everything You Need to Know About Wonderland’ She opened it up and began flipping through pages ” Um, foods, rulers, history, rumors, oh found it! How to get to Wonderland!” Ally said ” Let me see!” Evie said taking the book ” Well, it will take days to follow the map. Portal!!” ” There’s a portal we can use?” Ellie asked ” Yeah, but we need to figure out this riddle!”Ally said ” I’m great at riddles!” Velvet squealed ” Let me see!” ” ok!” Evie said handing her the book ” Hold your piece of Wonderland Hold it tightly in your hand Take each other by the palm Think your thoughts of hopeful psalm The quickest way to Wonderland Is to hope for the portal grand!” Velvet read aloud ” That makes no sense!!” Willow cried ” Let me think!!” Velvet cried as she studied the riddle ” Sorry!” Willow said ” Umm… Piece of Wonderland means an object from Wonderland!” Velvet said ” Evie, your mother’s the White Queen, right?” ” Yeah,” Evie said staring at the ground ” So, don’t you have anything from Wonderland?” Tina asked as she read the riddle in the book in Velvet’s hands ” All I have is this necklace.” Evie said as she held up the wooden cat charm ” Why is it a cat? I thought you were The White Queen’s daughter.” Marigold said as she flipped through Alice In Wonderland storybook ” I am, but I don’t like to tell people I’m royalty, so I’ve convinced everyone I’m a Cheshire!” Evie explained as she whispered a short spell that turned her charm into a white crown ” Does Aric know about your royal legacy?” Rose asked ” No, but he was the only person who has ever really noticed my necklace.” Evie told them stroking her necklace, that had changed back into a cat ” When will you guys become a couple?” Jane asked ” We won’t!!” Evie snapped ” You should, you caught his rose, you’ve dated, you’ve kissed, you’ve danced, it will just be a matter of time until he asks you to the Ball!!” Ellie squealed ” We will not become a couple!!” Evie argued ” You didn’t even disagree when she said you guys kissed!!” Tina pointed out ” I, uh, I –” Evie stumbled ” Look! Your finger is glowing!! Magic follows emotion! It only glows if you care about what we’re talking about!!” Tina squealed ” Just shut up!” Evie moaned, her finger glowing even brighter now ” Wish.” Velvet said shutting the book ” What?” The 8 other girls asked. Evie’s finger stopped glowing ” We have to wish to go to Wonderland!!” Velvet cried as if it was obvious They stared ” Ok listen:Hold your piece of Wonderland( aka Evie’s necklace) Hold it tightly in your hand Take each other by the palm(hold hands) Think your thoughts of hopeful psalm( Wish, hopeful thoughts!!) The quickest way to Wonderland Is to hope( wish) for a portal grand!” Velvet translated ” Ok, let’s make our wish!!” Evie said jumping up, obviously trying to avoid the topic of Aric. ” Ok!” The other girls jumped up “One!” Velvet said once the girls had joined hands ” Two!” Evie said ” Three!” The girls shouted as they thrust their glowing fingers out, wishing to save their friends. Evie’s necklace began to glow. They were about to disappear when Aric and Jack burst into the room. They saw them vanishing and grabbed onto them. There was a flash and the girls, never and ever, plus Aric and Jack were gone. ∽ The gang of 11 opened their eyes to see that they were in a flower filled meadow “I know this place!” Evie said as she hopped to her feet. “Stay here!” She walked past to tree and through a vine covered cave. Once she reached the end of the cave she came to an abrupt stop. In front of her was a tall, towering castle, every inch of it was white. ” Home.” She whispered to herself. She yearned to run through the doors. Yelling for her mother to tell her all about Aric and their dates. That’s what she would have once done, but she wouldn’t now. ‘ A never doesn’t cry!’ Her mother had told her once. She wiped her watering eyes. She couldn’t stand to look at this. She turned to return to the group, only to see Aric behind her. ” Where are we?” He asked ” Wonderland.” She whispered. “We’re in Wonderland.” |
